PESHAWAR: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday extended the interim bail of the accused nominated in a firing case related to a property dispute after both parties reached a settlement.
When ATC Judge Wali Muhammad began hearing the interim bail petitions of the accused, the court was informed that on October 24, firing had taken place in the Badaber area over a land dispute. Police conducted a raid, arrested one accused, while others escaped, after which both sides, 11 accused in total, were nominated in the case.
The accused from both parties, Iftikhar and others from the first party and Zain and others from the second party, submitted interim bail applications before the court and appeared in person.
During the hearing, ATC Judge Wali Muhammad offered both sides the option to resolve the issue through mediation. Upon this, both parties sought time.Later, through the efforts of the lawyers from both sides and local jirga elders, a settlement was reached. The jirga members presented the settlement documents before the court.
