Talking to reporters, he said that his son Mian Rashid Hussain was martyred in 2010, but the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police could not make any progress in the case.

He said he was the spokesperson for the ANP government back in 2010 and helped promote the narrative of the state to fight terrorism.

The ANP leader said that the militants killed his son and an FIR was registered. He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police had arrested various suspects in the murder case of his son.

However, he said that a TTP commander, Qayyum, was arrested in Karachi and he had confessed during investigation that he had been tasked with killing Mian Rashid Hussain.

He said despite his confession and revealing the names of his other accomplices, the KP police could not make any progress in the case.

The ANP leader was reacting to media reports quoting the police that the complainant in the Mian Rashid Hussain case was not interested in pursuing the murder case.

He said that the government should bring the culprits to justice instead of pitting him against the terrorists. “I have no enmity with anyone. It was the responsibility of the institutions to arrest and punish the killers of his son,” he added.
