PESHAWAR: The six-day Pashto language short course arranged by Islami Jamiat-i- Talaba (IJT) concluded at the University of Peshawar on Friday.
Director Pashto academy Dr Nasruallah Jan, Director Pakistan Studies Center Dr Fakhrul Islam and nazim IJT Shafiqur Rahman were the chief guests at the concluding ceremony of the course.
Some 30 participants from different institutions attended the Pashto course and Dr Anwar Ali Aurakzai served as resource person during the event.
The speakers on the occasion stressed the need for promotion of mother tongues. They said that education should be imparted in the mother tongue. They said it was a matter of serious concern that the majority of the Pashto speaking people did not know how to read and write Pashto.
The participants were given away certificates at the concluding ceremony. Gifts and shields were given to the guests.
