They also demanded that suspected patients of Covid-19 should also be quarantined according to the set health protocol of the World Health Organisation to contain further spread of the fast-travelling viral infection in the district. Sources said that there were two to four suspected patients in a single room in the quarantine centre in Brawal.

They said that a total of 41 suspected coronavirus patients had been quarantined in Wari quarantine centre besides a number of suspected patients in their homes. Officials of the Health Department said that they had selected extra buildings to be converted into the quarantine centres in case the number of suspected persons increased. They said that the tehsil administrations of Brawal, Dir and Lar Jam fumigated and sprayed various bazaars and roads in the district.

A report issued from the deputy commissioner office stated that that the district had reported a total of 113 suspected patients of coronavirus. Of them, 64 reported negative, 24 confirmed as positive and the results of 25 were awaited. It was learnt that there were 103 suspected coronavirus patients quarantined in Brawal Degree College and it was feared that it could increase as the number of virus-hit persons increasing day by day.

The district administration locked down all the bazaars in Dir city after the first confirmed Covid-19 positive case reported in the district recently. The personnel of police, Levies and army also started patrolling the city and banned any business activity.

Meanwhile, charity organisations, including Al-Khidmat Foundation and others are also providing food items and other relief goods to coronavirus patients, poor and deserving people affected by the ongoing lockdown.
