Six coronavirus cases confirmed in Hazara

ABBOTTABAD: As many as six coronavirus positive cases have been confirmed in Hazara division including three in Abbottabad, sources told The News here on Saturday.

One Major (r) Muhammad Ilyas, residing at Makki Mohallah Khola Kehal, was declared corona positive. He received a Tablighi Jamaat from Turkmenistan at his home two weeks ago and also went with them to a mosque in Narian area. He was admitted in CMH Abbottabad three days ago after he suffered dry cough.

Local administration and police rushed to the area along with disinfection teams of Water & Sanitation Services and took all preventive measures including disinfection spray in the area. Similarly, police sources confirmed that 13 people have given their samples to Chughtai Laboratory in Abbottabad for corona virus testing on their own, out of which two were declared positive. Muhammad Kamran (34) of Nagri Bala and Dr Jehangir (63) of Habibullah Colony were declared positive whereas 11 others’ test reports were negative. In Mansehra, 32-year-old Wajid Ali was declared corona positive. Similarly, Syed Shabiullah (18), who works at a block factory, was also declared COVID-19 positive.

The district administration has been focusing on movement of travellers including Tableeghi Jamaat gatherings, besides those who have travelled from overseas during the month of March 2020.
