CHITRAL: The officials of the Food Department on Tuesday fined several shopkeepers, butchers and nan bhais for not following hygiene standards.
District Food Controller Sher Fayyaz and inspectors raided various shops and hotels in Chitral bazaar to check the quality of edibles and hygiene standards.
The officials imposed fine on hotel owners, green grocers, butchers and vendors. Several of them were challaned.
Sher Fayyaz warned the profiteers and those selling substandard edibles to mend ways or else face the music.
