PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai has said that the Right to Public Services Commission is a step forward to good governance, which will end the culture of nepotism and corruption.
Addressing the launching ceremony of the Right to Public Services Commission's "Rasai 1800" here on Tuesday, he said that through initiative public access to prime minister was made possible.
Shaukat Yousafzai said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the first province that made it possible for the people to access services through Rasai 1800 from in their homes. He said such initiatives promoted transparency and merit and help in ending the culture of corruption and favouritism
He added that "Rasai 1800" would solve the problems of the people at their doorsteps and reduce the gap between the people and the government.
"Rasai 1800" proved that the government was not hiding from public services and this showed the performance of the government. He said that Right to Information Commission was also doing very well job in the province, which has been extended to tribal districts.
He said that ministers and members of the assembly come to assembly because of public votes, so it was their duty to serve the people and solve their problems.
Now any minister or department concerned will be held accountable for the complaint and the public will no longer have to visit the ministries and departments offices for the redressal of petty issues.
He said that complaint can also be registered on the Citizen Portal from "Rasai 1800" and now even every citizen can pass his problem to the authorities concerned.
Shaukat Yousafzai also lauded the performance of the Right to Information Commission, sayin g that the RTI Commission is doing a great job in providing information to the public.
