MANSEHRA: District Development Advisory Committee Chairman and Member Provincial Assembly Nawabzada Fareed has said the first-ever girls’ degree college in Oghi would be inaugurated next week.

“This is great news for the people of the Oghi Tehsil and Tanawal that the college is going to start classes from this academic session,” he told a public meeting held in connection with the inauguration of Baradar Road in Nikka Pani area on Monday. The road, which was completed with Rs3 million cost would benefit people of several villages in the Nikka Pani Union Council. The DDAC chairman said faculty and other staff members for the girls' college were being appointed so that academic session could be started in time and girls who mostly sit idle after doing intermediate studies could get admissions there. “We have arranged transport service for girl students as well,” he said and added that the government had sanctioned various development projects worth over Rs1.8 billion and amount of Rs459 million had been released so far.

“The tendering process for many roads and water supply schemes has been completed and execution of these schemes would start soon,” said Fareed.
