Atif Khan says rules of business to be amended

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Muhammad Atif Khan on Wednesday said that to run government affairs efficiently, the Rules of Business of 1985 would be amended to update some of the outdated sections of the rules.

He expressed the views while chairing the second high-level meeting of the Rules of Business Committee. Minister for Finance Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Minister for Law Sultan Khan, Minister for Communications and Works Akbar Ayub, Minister for Revenue Shakeel Khan, Food Minister Qalandar Lodhi and administrative secretaries attended the meeting. The participants discussed the proposed amendments to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rules of Business in detail. Earlier, the ministers were briefed on the proposed amendments to the Rules of Rules.

Atif Khan said that there were seven sections of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rules of Business, which needed immediate amendment.

He said the amendments aimed at ensuring transparency and to speed up working of the government to solve the issues faced by the masses. The senior minister said that all the ministers and administrative secretaries should submit concrete proposals for amendments in the next meeting expected after two weeks.
