DC, TMO tussle: KP govt orders officials to report to parent depts

MANSEHRA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has ordered deputy commissioner of Torghar and Tehsil Municipal Administrator of Kunder Hassanzai to report to their respective departments after the latter lodged a case against the former claiming the Levies personnel dragged and beat him up on his orders.

The Torghar police had booked the Deputy Commissioner Javed Ali Orakzai, three personnel of Levies including Subedar Gul Faraz and a clerk on a written complaint moved by TMO, Ghulam Murtaza with Darbani police.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Establishment Department Section Officer Ishtiaq Ahmad in his official order transferred DC Orakzai with immediate effect and asked him to report to his parent Establishment Department on Monday. “Consequently, Mansoor Arshad, the additional deputy commissioner Torghar, is authorised to hold additional charge of deputy commissioner’s post in addition to his own duties till further order,” the order said. In such another official letter issued by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government, Election and Rural Development on the same day transferred Ghulam Murtaza from the office of the TMO and asked him to report to his parent department. Official sources told reporters that a committee, which was constituted by Commissioner Hazara Zaheerul Islam by order of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary to probe alleged attack on TMO under Deputy Commissioner Mansehra Aurangzeb Haider Khan also finalised its inquiry and submitted its findings to the government.

The deputy commissioner Javed Ali Orakzai denied his involvement in the beating of Murtaza, saying he had ordered the only collection of moveable assets, including a luxury vehicle by order of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government, Election and Rural Development Department.
