PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had lost the right to govern the country after failing to provide relief to the people in the face of burgeoning inflation and joblessness.
According to a press release, he was speaking at the provincial council meeting here.
Sikandar Sherpao said that backbreaking inflation had made life miserable for the people.
“The commoners are grappling with a host of problems, but the government seems least bothered to mitigate their sufferings,” he maintained.
Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao added the QWP would stage protests against inflation throughout the province on November 28.
He said that inflation had hit the highest point in five years, which spoke volumes about the poor performance and ill-conceived policies of the government.
The QWP leader said the provincial government was passing such laws which could turn the tribal districts into no-go areas.
The former senior minister said the party would hold an all-parties conference in the first week of December to discuss the problems being faced by the residents of the tribal districts.
He said the QWP would spare no effort to remove the sense of deprivation among the Pakhtuns and help them get their due rights enshrined in the Constitution.
