PESHAWAR: Pakistan International Human Rights Organisation (PIHRO) on Saturday condemned the genocide of Muslims in Myanmar and lamented the silence of the Muslim world against the atrocities meted out to the Muslim brethren.
The PIHRO held a rally outside the Peshawar Press Club that was led by the provincial president of the organisation, Pir Akram Shah. The rally also chanted slogans against the United Nations, saying that the Muslim were exterminated in Burma but the world bodies and Muslim countries became silent spectators to all these atrocities of the Burmese government.
NOWSHERA: The activists of religio-political parties and traders staged a protest against the cruelties being committed against the Muslims in Myanmar and urged the world to take notice of the situation.
Holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans, the activists of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) and Markazi Anjuman-i-Tajiran gathered at the Shubara Chowk and blocked the GT Road for traffic.
JUI-F local leader Qari Muhammad Aslam, ASWJ’s Qari Abid Shah and president traders’ union Ayaz Paracha were leading the protest.
The speakers expressed disappointment over the silence of the rulers of Muslims states and United Nations on the atrocities committed against the Rohingya Muslims.
They asked the non-governmental organisations working for human rights to highlight the plight of the Rohingya Muslims and help stop the human rights violation there.
