“More than 500 policemen were deployed for protection of different worship places in the provincial capital during Sunday prayers,” said Capital City Police Officer Qazi Jamilur Rehman.

The official said that policewomen, bomb disposal squad units and canine units were also deployed at churches to ensure security of everyone coming for the Sunday prayers.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Zahoor Afridi and SPs and DSPs of different areas also visited the churches and inspected security in and around the buildings. The SSP said security for worship places is the top priority of the police force.
