JHANG: The District Sports Administration reportedly Saturday suspended its sports activities for one week and handed over the sports complex hall and other official resources to please local traders.
The relevant authorities were informed through a complaint that the Punjab Sports Department and District Administration and other officials concerned had handed over the sports complex to traders without any legal authority and justification.
The complaint said the sports department officials also provided electricity to stalls and shops from official meters round the clock. The civil society demanded action agasint this violation. When contacted, the District Sports Officer Attaue Rehman said on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner he allowed the local traders to install stalls and establish shops for the promotion of business activities. The DC did not respond to calls.
