Though the weather remained cloudy in the provincial capital, it received heavy rain in the evening. The Mansehra-Nawazabad road has been blocked to all sort of traffic following a heavy landslide in Siran valley early in the day.

The traffic between Siran valley and rest of Mansehra district was suspended after the landslide and passengers stranded on both sides of the road.

“Fortunately, no casualty occurred in the incident. However, hundreds of passengers stranded on both sides of the road,” Abdul Wahid Khan, the president of the traders’ body in Jabori, told reporters.

The Siran valley had received heavy snowfall and rains, which, according to locals, triggered the landslide suspending traffic between upper parts of valley and rest of the district.

“We have appealed to the district administration to clear the road of a landslide so that traffic could be restored,” said Wahid Khan.
