BATTAGRAM: Criticising the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) for hours-long loadshedding, the elders at a jirga on Sunday asked the government to provide electricity to the area from the Allai Khawar Hydropower Project.“Electricity is being generated on our soil and we have been facing hours-long loadshedding every day,” said one of the elders.Elders belonging to almost all the tribes of Battagram attended the jirga.They expressed their anger over the loadshedding and demanded direct electricity from Allai Khawar Hydropower Project.Maulana Rasheed Ahmad, Haji Tehmas Khan, Fida Muhammad, Attaullah Khan, Babar Khan, Nisar Khan Bacha Khan, Niaz Muhammad Khan and others spoke on the occasion.Maulana Rasheed said the government had failed to overcome the power
shortage.
