Bid to smuggle foreign currency foiled

BARA: The Customs officials on Sunday foiled a bid to smuggle foreign currency at Torkham border in Khyber Agency, official sources said.

They said the currency seized included one million Saudi riyal. Also fake Afghan currency, amounting to Rs700,000 , was seized, they added.

The accused, an Afghan national, whose name could not be confirmed, was arrested and sent to lock-up for further investigation.
