Three killed as van plunges into Upper Dir river

DIR: Two women and a man were killed and eight persons injured when a vehicle carrying members of the Tableeghi Jamaat fell into the river Panjkora in Narhan Khwar in Upper Dir district on Saturday.

The officials at the Gandigar Police Station said the vehicle was going to Sahibabad Markaz when it fell into the river Panjkora at Narhan Khwar.

It was learnt that the two women and a man were killed on the spot. They were identified as Bakht Jamala, Said Baha and Samiullah, residents of Usheri Darra.

The police said that eight others sustained injuries in the incident.

The injured were taken to a hospital in Warai, where they were stated to be stable.

Man dies in Hangu cylinder blast: A man was killed and another sustained injuries in a gas cylinder blast at a shop in Wrasta Chowk here on Saturday, official sources said.

They said that one Khan Muhammad was filling balloons with gas when the cylinder exploded. As a result, Khan Muhammad was killed on the spot while Turi Gul sustained injuries.

The police reached the spot and shifted the body and the injured to the Hangu District Headquarters Hospital in Hangu where condition of the injured was stated to be stable.

The body after autopsy in the hospital was handed over to the family members for burial.

Minor girl dies in Swat wall collapse: A minor was killed while a small boy sustained injuries in a wall collapse incident at scenic Bahrain area in Swat district on Saturday, official sources said.

They said that wall of a house of one Fazal Khan collapsed in Bahrain area. As a result, his minor daughter Khushbo was killed on the spot while a boy, Sadiq, sustained injuries.
