CHARSADDA: The owners of private educational institutions on Thursday staged a protest against the proposed introduction of a regularity authority bill for the sector, asking the government to review the proposal.
All the private educational institutions in the district remained closed as mark of protest against the proposed law.The owners, teachers and other staff of private educational institutions gathered at the Farooq-e-Azam Chowk and staged the protest.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands.Provincial president of Private Education Network Saleem Khan, general secretary Attaur Rehman and others were leading the protesters.
The speakers said that the provincial education department and government were trying to take control of private educational institutions by promulgating the Regularity Authority bill. They vowed to continue their opposition to the proposed regularity authority bill.
