PESHAWAR: Denying a news item about the use of the helicopters of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government by Imran Khan, the media department of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf maintained that the party chief had never used these choppers himself but only on the invitation of the chief minister of the province or in case he authorized a provincial minister.
The statement said these helicopters could only be used by the chief minister and governor in accordance with the government policy. “The confusion could have been avoided had the paper contacted the KP government for proper information in this regard,” it added.
The statement said the report published in The News about the use of choppers by the chairman PTI was completely false and fabricated.
The statement added: “The current trend of biased reporting based on inaccurate facts is condemnable and needs to be stopped. Constructive criticism is always welcome but laws and ethics of fair reporting shouldn’t be ignored for the sake of mere criticism. In addition, we also demand an apology from the paper to Chairman PTI and CM KP and explanation of hidden motives prior to such biased reporting against PTI.”
