GHALLANAI: Workers of Awami National Party (ANP) here on Sunday staged a protest demonstration against the employment of non-local people with fake domicile certificates on various positions in government departments and development projects.
Addressing the protest sit-in outside Mohmand Press Club in Ghallanai, ANP activist Liaqat Khan lamented that non-local people had occupied various positions in the government departments and development projects with the help of forged documents. He said that government should make the Computerised National Identity Cards mandatory for the candidates applying to jobs in the tribal region.
The ANP activist said that it was the sole right of educated youth from Mohmand Agency to secure jobs in native areas. He added that the youth of Mohmand Agency were faced with unemployment while non-local people had been occupying employment opportunities meant for the residents of the tribal region in the first place.
He lamented that non-local people had acquired the domicile certificates of the agency with the help of influential officials in the political administration.The protesters also demanded the authorities concerned to conduct scrutiny of the forged documents and take disciplinary action against the fraudsters.
Dozens join PPP in Bajaur: Dozens of tribespeople on Sunday announced joining Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Utmankhel tehsil of Bajaur Agency.The tribespeople including Sarfaraz Khan, Zahid Khan, Samiullah, Ghausur Rehman and Khan Munir announced joining PPP at the party workers convention held at Qazafi Hall.Among others, the meeting was attended by former Member National Assembly Akhunzada Chattan, PPP Bajaur chapter president Aurangzeb Inqilabi, senior vice-president Mian Saadat Yar, Fazal Karim, Abdul Jabbar and Mian Gul Jan.Speaking on the occasion, Akhunzada Chattan welcomed the new entrants and said that party leadership would not disappoint the workers.
