City are open to selling the midfielder but seek more than £60m
Manchester City have reportedly rejected an opening bid of £38.5 million from Barcelona for Spain midfielder Rodri on Friday.

At present there were no warrants any deal would be made but the situation now seems to be developing. On Friday, the club said it is in fresh conversations with the players' representatives regarding an opening offer.
The second week of August is crucial in the transfer window; as City seek to resolve Rodri’s future immediately so they can sign a replacement.
Talks are in progress to sign Morocco midfielder Bouaddi from Lille but the French club's £86m asking price is the crucial sticking point.
According to reports, everyone at Real Madrid strived to make the deal happen, making it clear they were actually seriously signing the midfielder. Furthermore, every aspect was closely monitored to get the deal done after positive talks over the last two weeks, and Rodri made a final decision to formally accept the offer.
