Meghan Markle recalls Lilibet's first school day

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex had an unexpected and emotional moment when she went to drop off her and Prince Harry's daughter, Princess Lilibet on her first day of preschool.

Ahead of the release of Cookie Queens, Meghan revealed to People Magazine that her daughter's first school day brough back childhood memories. She shared that she had a heartwarming reunion on the day.

She said, "Funny enough, on Lili’s first day of pre-K, one of the moms came up to me at drop-off, and I realized we were in our troop together!"

Adding, "It was so sweet and nostalgic."

The encounter reminded the Duchess of her years as a Brownie and Junior Girl Scout in Los Angeles. Revising the chapter of her life while producing Cookie Queens, Meghan said it brought back treasured memories.

The documentary follows four Girl Scouts as they navigate cookie-selling season while developing confidence, resilience and leadership skills. Meghan said those lessons resonate even more now that she's raising two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

Highlighting the importance of empowering young girls, Meghan Markle said, "These girls are our future leaders and amazing role models."

"I found this element of the film so important; showing young female entrepreneurs, girls with financial literacy, skills that will set them up for future success, and learning how to work to achieve their goals is so inspiring," the wife of Prince Harry added.
