NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak Sunday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf protest was a referendum against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his associates.
Speaking at various reception camps in Taru Jabba, Pabbi, Nowshera and Khairabad areas here, he said that the participation of people in the PTI rally was evident that the nation had got fed up with the corrupt rulers and wanted their accountability.
He said the people were coming in droves to participate in the accountability movement of the PTI.“The participation of the people in the rally in such a large number shows the public confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government,” he maintained.
He said that corruption and Pakistan cannot go alongside any more. “The time has come to get rid of corrupt rulers,” he added. The chief minister said only the PTI and Imran Khan can challenge the corrupt rulers and hold them accountable. He added that holding protest rallies was the democratic right of everyone and they were not against the progress of the country.
He claimed that the PTI would win the 2018 general elections on the basis of its performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding Imran Khan would be the next prime minister. Pervez Khattak said the PTI had implemented its agenda of change to a great extent.
He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had inherited politicised institutions where mismanagement, corruption and violation of merit were a common practice.Advance commission in development projects and political interference in appointments and transfers in government departments was at its peak when the PTI took over the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said.
The chief minister claimed that the PTI eliminated corruption, upheld merit in recruitments, made an end to political interference in transfers and postings and streamlined the decades old faulty system.He said the provincial government put an end to class-based educational system and introduced an effective mechanism to provide basic facilities the people.
