GTA 6 cover art hides 9 secrets that change everything
Rockstar packed nine panels with clues about Jason and Lucia, new locations, criminal figures, and the lifestyle awaiting in Leonida
Rockstar's nine-panel GTA 6 cover art is far more than eye candy. Each frame tells a story. Pre-orders begin June 25, and fans are already hunting for clues buried in plain sight, and they're finding plenty.
The cover doesn't just showcase cool imagery. It reveals setting details, character backstories, possible mission locations, and hints about the lifestyle waiting in Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida.
Breaking it down piece by piece shows how deliberately Rockstar crafted this artwork.
Jason and Lucia
In the very forefront are the main characters of the video game, Jason Duvall and Lucia Caminos. Jason has been making attempts for many years to leave his criminal life by serving in the army; a "Marauder" tattoo seems to be an indication of his background. Lucia is a survivor of the Leonida Penitentiary; she is now a hardened character.
While both characters have come back to Vice City, the way the frame on the cover shows them says that their collaboration goes beyond just the majority of people. The way they interact, their central placement, and the skyline of palm trees in the background say that they are tied by destiny. Lucia is armed with a Brazilian pistol.
GTA’s criminal power players
There are two important personalities whose images feature prominently on the cover, indicating their importance in the storyline.
First, there is Raul Bautista, who is a seasoned bank robber and appears dressed in Vice City-style clothes with his back to the Sinfrontera National Bank as if to shout, "Heist mission coming next."
Then there is Boobie Ike, who is referred to as the kingmaker in the town and who has fingers in real estate, strip joints, and the music production business. He is wearing an ornate ring shaped like a gold lion crown.
GTA’s Vice City
The setting gets equal billing. A Sea Sparrow helicopter references the original Vice City, placing this story in Rockstar's Miami. A bright yellow Lamborghini-inspired supercar echoes the iconic yellow Infernus from earlier games. A biker on a neon-purple motorcycle with police in pursuit captures the speed and chaos the series demands.
But the most unique aspect about Florida is definitely the alligator, a huge gator that somehow manages to steal the show. This animal symbolises the Grass Rivers area, which has been referred to as Leonida's "untameable jewel", suggesting there is more to explore outside the neon-lit Vice City.
The presence of a flamingo above and a speedboat racing along the shoreline further confirms this notion of an open world ready to be explored.
The girl on the cover wearing a turquoise outfit (colours of Vice City Manatees) and having tattoos that say "Vice Baby" and "305" defines the local culture. The Atoll Bar and Grill in the background is one of those locations that have not been featured in any of the trailers by Rockstar.
