Randy Quaid calls Anne Hathaway ‘horrible choice’ for ‘Days of Thunder’ sequel

Randy Quaid is not happy with Anne Hathaway's casting in Days of Thunder.

Tom Cruise faced criticism from Randy Quaid after expectant mom Anne Hathaway was cast opposite him in the upcoming Days of Thunder follow-up movie.

It is worth noting here that in the original 1990’s days of thunder, the Hollywood star’s ex wife Nicole Kidman starred opposite him.

However, the Top Gun star and mom-to-be revealed in the sequel’s announcement video that Anne aims to "have this baby, then make the movie."

While Tom acknowledged, "That's a good idea."

A couple weeks ago Randy made a bold statement on Twitter about the sequel’s casting, demanding for Nicole's return. "We need Nicole back. Don't be a p----, TomCruise. You need the original girl. It's not personal; it's filmmaking. Anne isn't s---, because and if you haven't noticed, she's pregnant."

He continued, "Anne Hathaway is a leftist, woke, horrible choice for DAYS OF THUNDER NASCAR audience who are MAGA. The s--- older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole.”

"That's the casting that would sell the idea. It's interesting because when we made the first one there was also a rush to get it out; editors slept in the cutting room on shifts. This is a weird thing, like they want it to come out and tank.”

"If I were in control of production, a real sequel worth watching for DAYS OF THUNDER would be seeing Tom and Nicole together on screen again. We don't need a new girl; we need a new race car," he further claimed.

For those unaware, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise's romance started after the iconic Days of Thunder’s shooting. The former couple got married in 1990 but divorced in 2001 after nearly 11 years of marriage.

Moreover, the follow-up film is set to release on June 2, 2028.
