Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archewell Foundation is facing uncertainty after James Holt, the organization's executive director, announced his departure.
Holt, who has worked with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for nearly a decade, will remain a senior philanthropic advisor, but his exit has raised concerns about the foundation's future.
Since it was reported that Holt is leaving for UK and will no longer work in the same capacity for the Sussexes, several reports have emerged claiming that Harry and Meghan will sell their foundation.
According to an insider, the foundation’s future depends on the renewal of Meghan’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.
“If Meghan’s Netflix show isn’t picked up for another season then what happens to their staff?” the insider said.
Following the news that Holt has resigned after decade-long service, critics took to X (formerly Twitter) to question the exit of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s senior aide.
Royal commentator Dan Wootton claimed Holt’s decision to return to the UK signalled deeper problems with the Sussexes camp.
"James Holt has been one of the most despicable Harry & Meghan paid PR propagandists since their time in the Royal Family," the expert said.
Harry and Meghan spoke fondly of their publicist following his exit as they said in their official statement, “James has been a stellar support for us for nearly ten years. His enthusiasm and talent in overseeing our philanthropic endeavours have been extraordinary.
“As James moves his young family back to the UK, we are proud that he will continue to guide various humanitarian trips for us overseas through Archewell Philanthropies.”
