Quinta Brunson shared a sneak peek of what’s been brewing up in Abbott Elementary season 5.
In a recent interview, the creator and star of the ABC sitcom teased a big turning point or crisis at Abbott that will challenge the staff, possibly threatening their unity, careers, or even the school's future.
She hints at new relationship milestones for her character Janine Teagues, a second-grade teacher, and Gregory, including meeting family and possibly moving in together.
“I think you can expect to experience more relationship milestones," Brunson, 35, said of the couple, who crossed a major one in the Season 4 finale, as Janine befriended Gregory’s father, "like you’re gonna see the things that happen to typical couples in their 20s: meeting more parents, meeting more family members, figuring out what steps are next, moving in together — things like that."
She spilled the beans about new characters, including Dominic (played by Luke Tennie), who may stir things up in the teachers’ lounge.
In addition, the actress and the comedian talked about more drama and surprises and most intriguingly, a "really, really, really major" event, a game-changing shakeup at the school that could make or break the beloved teachers.
In an interview with Deadline, Brunson also talked about a live episode filmed during a historic Phillies game, which turned out far more exciting than expected.
