Woody Allen has recently expressed his desire to make a comeback in the moviemaking business once again.
According to RadarOnline.com, a source revealed that most of the key people in Hollywood still think of him “a lowdown creep”.
The American moviemaker was reportedly blacklisted from the industry after he was accused of sexual molestation by her adopted daughter Dylan Farrow with her ex-Mia Farrow.
Although Woody declined the allegations and was never criminally charged, the source shared he’s still not accepted in the industry.
“He wants to reestablish himself as one of America's best directors and get some backing from American moviemakers, but he's finding it tough,” explained an insider.
The source further said that Woody is “trying to hang out with industry movers and shakers, but they're not being so friendly”.
Another insider close to the moviemaker mentioned that he still owns an apartment in New York City, but he's been spending more time in Europe.
The reason behind living in Europe is that people over there “still accept him as a moviemaker and where he can get funding and distribution for his movies” pointed out a source.
“But he's ready to end his self-imposed exile,” stated an insider.
Earlier in July, Woody was seen with wife Soon-Yi Previn in Santa Monica, California, at Giorgio Baldi.
Sharing the real reason, the insider disclosed that he “wants to be seen and spoken to, and he's seeking out Hollywood industry types who will help him lift the ban placed over his head”.
For the unversed, Woody made his last movie back in 2023, titled Coup de Chance that was blocked in the US by distribution challenges.
Meanwhile, the source shared, “It's a huge disappointment for Woody, who wanted to make his mark in Hollywood one last time.”
“If he's unsuccessful, he'll be forced to crawl back to Europe in shame,” added an insider.
