Ann-Margret gives Lindsay Lohan her blessing for biopic role

Jamie Lee Curtis has thrown her support behind Lindsay Lohan to play Ann-Margret in a biopic, and the Swedish-American actress and singer has given her approval.

During a recent appearance on Good Morning America, Curtis, 66, pitched Lohan, 39, to portray the film icon, saying, "I’m going to out you now to the world — I want her to do the Ann-Margret story."

Curtis revealed that she has been sending Lohan videos of Ann-Margret on Instagram, showcasing her talent and charisma. "So, every day on Instagram… I find videos of her back in the day, and I send [Lohan] every day videos [of Ann-Margret]," Curtis said.

Ann-Margret, 84, responded to the news, saying, "I know that she wants to do that. It just depends on what the dialogue is like. What can I say? I adore her. I think she’s full of talent, and I just would like to see what they can come up with."

This isn't the first time the idea of Lohan playing Ann-Margret has been discussed. In November 2024, Lohan appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and confirmed that she is working on the biopic.

"We’re working on the story. It’s exciting," she said. "It’s gonna be pretty intense. It has to be the way that she wants it to be, so I really want it to be special in that way."

Lohan has previously spoken about her admiration for Ann-Margret, calling her a "triple threat" and an "amazing woman."

"She’s a triple threat, and she’s an amazing woman on top of that," Lohan told Bustle in March 2024. "So I just really want to do her justice and help tell a great story for her."

While Lohan may be gearing up to play Ann-Margret in a biopic, she is also set to star alongside Curtis in the upcoming film Freakier Friday, a sequel to the hit 2003 film Freaky Friday.

The film follows Curtis and Lohan's characters as they switch bodies with two teenage girls, leading to a series of comedic and chaotic events.
