Tom Cruise has recently lauded producer Jerry Bruckheimer for his movie’s success, F1.
The Top Gun star revealed that Jerry is not only the man behind Brad Pitt’s movie, F1 but also his starrer NASCAR movie, Days of Thunder, which was released 35 years ago in theatres.
Tom wrote a congratulatory message to producer Jerry on X, formerly known as Twitter on June 27.
“I always love the fun and adrenaline of a racing film,” said the Mission: Impossible actor as he posted a series of photos from the Days of Thunder, all on the race track.
Tom stated, “Today marks two racing milestones for my friend Jerry Bruckheimer, the release of ‘F1’ and the 35-year anniversary to the day of our collaboration with the great Tony Scott on Days of Thunder.”
“Incredible to look back on this movie today, and congratulations to Jerry, Brad, Joe and the whole F1 team on their release,” added the 62-year-old.
Meanwhile, F1 director Joseph Kosinski, who also helmed Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, opened up that about the possibility of Brad’s movie sequel and a crossover with Tom’s Days of Thunder movie.
“Well, right now, the sequel would be Cole Trickle, who was Tom’s ‘Days of Thunder’ character,” said Joseph in an exclusive interview with GQ magazine.
The movie-maker continued, “We find out that Tom and Brad Pitt’s Sonny Hayes have a past. They were rivals at some point, maybe crossed paths.”
“I heard about this epic go-kart battle on ‘Interview With the Vampire’ that Brad and Tom had, and who wouldn’t pay to see those two go head-to-head on the track?” remarked Joseph.
