Vin Diesel is gearing up for one last ride in the Fast and Furious saga, and he’s giving fans a taste of what’s to come. Appearing alongside co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Cody Walker at Fuel Fest in Pomona, California on Saturday night, Diesel shared exciting news about Fast and Furious 11 and what the finale could look like.

During his brief appearance at the car enthusiast event, Diesel revealed that Universal Pictures has a target release window in mind for the final installment.

“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of ‘Fast and Furious’ [in] April 2027?’” he told the crowd.

“I said, ‘Under three conditions.’ First, is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner.”

Fans were quick to react to Diesel’s mention of Brian O’Conner, the character made famous by Paul Walker.

Walker tragically passed away in 2013 at the age of 40, and how the character could return is still unclear. If Brian does appear in the final film, it would likely involve digital technology similar to what was used in earlier entries after Walker’s passing.

The last film in the franchise, Fast X, hit theaters in May 2023. It earned over $700 million globally, though it came with a massive production cost of $340 million.

The film featured a big cast including Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Michelle Rodriguez, Alan Ritchson, Rita Moreno, and Brie Larson.

At the time of release, Fast X was promoted as the first half of a two-part saga, but it’s still uncertain whether Fast 11 will directly continue that storyline after such a long break.

While full details remain under wraps, Diesel’s recent comments make it clear that the final film aims to reconnect with the roots of the franchise, street racing, L.A. culture, and the legacy of family that’s been central since the beginning.
