MARDAN: The Women University Mardan distributed over Rs9 million among 90 deserving students through four key scholarship programs at the Scholarship Award Ceremony.
Council of Islamic Ideology former chairman Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz, who attended the event as chief guest, highlighted the critical role of women’s education in national development.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Razia Sultana praised students for their achievements and acknowledged the support of donors and faculty.
The scholarships that were awarded included Scotland Pakistan Scholarship worth Rs6.13 million to 37 BS and MPhil students. The District Zakat Office Scholarship worth Rs1.26 million to 21 students. Momina Cheema Foundation Scholarship worth Rs330,000 initially disbursed to 11 students, with a pledged total of Rs1.32 million.
The Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal Scholarship for Rs371,629 to 21 students. Special recognition was given to Irum Amin and Jehanzeb Khan for their support under Pakistan Scotland Scholarship 2024-25 and District Zakat Office Mardan Scholarship.
Dr Ambreen Ayub, Convener of the Scholarship Committee and Scholarship Committee members were praised for their exceptional leadership whose coordination, and dedication played a pivotal role to ensure a transparent, merit-based, and timely scholarship disbursement process.
