Cop, relative injured in Shangla militants’ attack

ALPURI: A cop and his relative sustained serious injuries when militants attacked the house of a cop in Martung area in Shangla, police officials on Thursday.

They said that Constable Jan Khan of the district security branch (DSB) and his maternal uncle Mustaqeem Shah were seriously injured in the attack.They said the incident occurred during the night between Wednesday and Thursday in the remote area of Martung in Shangla district, where militants targeted the residence of DSB official Jan Khan.

Both Jan Khan and his uncle Mustaqeem Shah sustained serious injuries and were first shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Puran. Later, they were referred to Saidu Sharif Hospital in Swat for further treatment. The injured cop is currently posted in Kamach with the DSB.
