BATKHELA: A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) local leader on Saturday alleged that the recent spate of wildfires in the mountainous regions of Malakand were not natural, but part of a deliberate plan to cover up corruption in the Billion Tree Tsunami project.
Speaking at a joining ceremony held in the hilly area of Banjoo Nanda here, PMLN Malakand district president Sajjad Ahmad Khan said, “For the past several months, wildfires have been breaking out across various hills of the district. These are not natural incidents; they are being set intentionally to destroy evidence of mismanagement and corruption in the Billion Tree project.”
He demanded that the Forest Department conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
Sajjad Ahmad Khan said that PMLN was a strong political party with a solid record of economic stability and national defense.
“Inflation was brought under control during our tenure, and the economy saw improvement. On the defense front, Pakistan’s armed forces earned the respect of the nation and the world,” he added.
