PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tourist and scenic spots witnessed an extraordinary influx of visitors with over 932,000 tourists in just three days of Eidul Azha.
The Swat region saw a significant influx of tourists where famous destinations, including Madyan, Bahrain, Kalam and surrounding areas were visited by a total of 288,424 domestic tourists and 63 foreign visitors.
These figures highlight Swat’s popularity as a prime attraction for Pakistani tourists during the Eid holidays. Across the province, other major tourist spots also experienced high visitor numbers with 177,000 tourists visiting Galiyat, 168,000 Kaghan valley, 160,000 Malam Jabba and 85,000 Upper Dir.
These statistics were compiled with the assistance of police and Levies checkpoints, Tourism Police, assistant commissioners and field officers from relevant development authorities.Under the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and Advisor for Tourism Zahid Chanzeb, excellent facilities were provided to tourists. Visitors praised the effective arrangements for parking, security, guidance, and medical assistance. Young personnel from the Tourism Police provided exemplary service to tourists.
