LAHORE: In a major traffic enforcement drive across the province over the past week, traffic authorities issued over 159,000 driving licences and handed out more than 278,000 challans for traffic violations, collecting fines exceeding Rs157 million.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 5,526 smoke-emitting vehicles were fined, with 519 impounded at police stations.So far this year, over 3.47 million driving licences have been issued, 4.98 million challans recorded, and fines worth over Rs3 billion collected. Additionally, 224,000 smoke-emitting vehicles have been penalised, with 1,924 impounded.
