ABBOTTABAD: Commissioner Hazara Division Fayyaz Ali Shah on Friday directed the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) to form policy for equitable water distribution and expedite approval of the no objection certificates for new water sources.
He was chairing a meeting with hotel owners and relevant departments to address pressing issues in Galiyat’s hospitality sector. The meeting was aimed at resolving concerns, including water shortages, infrastructure issues, noise pollution and security issues.
The commissioner directed the GDA officials to find out solution to the equitable water distribution and expedite approval of NOC for new water sources.A formal letter would be sent to the provincial government demanding action against Murree Water Board’s diversion. Similarly, the hotel owners were directed to confine tourist vehicles to their premises, while GDA was tasked with identifying parking plazas.
He further directed Pesco to collaborate with hotel management to resolve load shedding-related issues.A committee was formed to confiscate pressure horns, woofers and tape recorders violating noise regulations. He stressed the need to standardise and regularise private guesthouse data and directed GDA authorities to Launch cleanliness awareness campaigns in the entire Galiyat. He also asked to Publish SOPs for foreign tourists on GDA website.The commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to resolving these issues, stating that his office remains open to the public for constructive dialogue.
