IGP inaugurates traffic driving school in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed inaugurated the traffic driving school and multipurpose Auditorium Hall at Police Lines in the District Headquarters Complex Tajazai here on Thursday.

RPO Bannu Sajjad Khan and DPO Lakki Marwat Muhammad Jawad Ishaq were also present on the occasion. Upon reaching the police lines, an alert police contingent presented a guard of honour to the provincial police officer who also visited the martyrs’ monument, placed floral wreaths there and offered Fateha for the martyrs.

The district police chief gave him a detailed briefing about the current law and order situation, police officials’ performance, ongoing civil work in police stations and check posts and challenges faced by the police force.

The IGP said that the establishment of a driving school would help teach citizens especially youths with basic and practical driving skills and also raise awareness about traffic laws and road safety.

“The traffic school will also play a vital role in training citizens on the principles of safe driving and reducing traffic related problems in the district,” he maintained.

Zulfiqar said that enhancing police personnel’s capabilities and professionalism was his top priority as it would help to improve law and order, curb crimes and eliminate terrorism in the region. He lauded Lakki Marwat district police force for its bravery and rewarded the district police officer and other cops with commendation certificates and cash prizes. The IGP also inaugurated a newly constructed building block at the police lines in Bannu district.
