Gal Gadot'sThe Runner protestants arrested

Gal Gadot’s latest film The Runner faced a disruption on its London set this week when five protesters were arrested during a demonstration.

According to the Metropolitan Police via Deadline, the protest took place in Westminster on Wednesday and led to arrests linked to harassment and blocking access to the production site.

Three individuals were taken into custody for allegedly harassing crew members and unlawfully obstructing entry to the workplace, while two others were arrested in connection to earlier protests.

Authorities stated that the demonstration targeted the film solely because of the nationality of the actress involved in the production.

Police emphasised the importance of maintaining order during protests. “While we absolutely acknowledge the importance of peaceful protest, we have a duty to intervene where it crosses the line into serious disruption or criminality,” said Superintendent Neil Holyoak in a statement.

Despite the incident, production on The Runner continues as planned and has not faced any delays, according to sources.

Directed by Kevin Macdonald and written by Mark Gibson, the film follows Gadot’s character, a top-tier attorney racing through London under pressure from a mysterious caller, desperately trying to save her kidnapped son.

Earlier this year, Gadot's appearance at her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony also sparked protests due to her political stance, which has remained a point of controversy.

Her differing views from fellow Snow White star Rachel Zegler have also attracted attention, especially after the film’s poor box office performance.
