BUREWALA: An FIR has been registered against seven named and six unidentified Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel, including a DSP and SHO on the orders of the Lahore High Court Multan Bench in connection with the alleged extra-judicial killing of a youth in what police initially claimed was an encounter.
The case was registered under FIR No 32/25 at the request of Zubaida Bibi, the mother of the deceased, Zeeshan son of Akhtar Ali Dhaddi, a 23-year-old resident of Chak 19/WB. The FIR includes sections 302, 324, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Zubaida Bibi, in her petition to the Lahore High Court, alleged that on April 29, 2025, her son Zeeshan and nephew were unlawfully detained by CTD officials, including DSP CTD Vehari Rashid Thaheem, SHO CTD Shahid Ishaq Gujar, Constable Asad, Constable Zahoor, Constable Ghazi Iftikhar alias Vicky, and Constable Akmal Odh, along with five to six unidentified personnel.
She further stated that following the arrest, she filed a writ petition in the Lahore High Court Multan Bench seeking recovery of the detainees. On May 3, she was informed that her son Zeeshan had been killed in an alleged police encounter in the Seetal Mari area of Multan. She termed the killing a brutal and unjustified murder, claiming that her nephew was also injured by police in a fabricated incident to cover up the unlawful action.
Demanding justice, Zubaida Bibi has appealed to the CM and the IGP for a transparent investigation into the incident and legal action against those responsible for the misuse of authority and her son’s alleged extrajudicial killing.
