MULTAN: An operation against electricity theft and defaulters, supervised by Mepco and Rangers with police support, took place in Ghazi Sub-Division. The crackdown in areas like Wadani Basti and Shakir Town uncovered 200 individuals directly tapping LT lines, leading to six arrests.

Action was also taken against major defaulters owing Rs3.5 million, resulting in the disconnection of their connections and removal of transformers, meters, and LT lines. Authorities recovered over Rs 300,000 in outstanding dues during the operation.

Mepco filed complaints with local police stations to register cases against the 200 power thieves. The large-scale operation is underway to reduce financial losses from electricity theft.
