Probe into alleged corruption in Ramazan package sought

BATTAGRAM: Former provincial assembly candidate Allama Atta Muhammad Deshani has demanded a probe into alleged corruption in the distribution of Ramazan relief packages in Battagram and Allai.

A formal application has been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Battagram to obtain full records and transparency regarding the distribution of the relief aid.

“We have begun legal proceedings against the alleged embezzlement of millions of rupees meant for the Ramazan package. An application has been submitted to the DC of Battagram for all relevant records. I will go to every possible extent to bring those to justice who have snatched the rights of the poor, orphans and widows,” he added.

The initiative has gained momentum with strong public and political support.

Former National Assembly candidate Adil Nawaz expressed unwavering support for the cause, saying: “I stand 100 percent with the investigative step taken by Allama Atta Deshani regarding corruption in the Ramazan package. I have always raised my voice for the rights of the people of my constituency PK-34 and will continue to fight the people’s case on every platform. At the national level, Allama Deshani is playing the role of a strong opposition, which deserves appreciation.”

Local political activist Saeed Ahmad Malkal also welcomed the move. Said Hussain Sherazi, a prominent social worker from the area.
