125 arrested in connection with Kurram violence: IGP

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed has said that around 125 suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent incidents of violence in Kurram.

Speaking to Geo News, the IGP stated that those apprehended were involved in serious crimes and acts of terrorism, and were currently facing legal proceedings in court.

The IGP also revealed significant progress in the investigation into the targeted killings of religious scholars in Peshawar.

Zulfiqar Hameed said that evidence suggests that a specific group is behind these attacks.

Police have identified several mobile numbers linked to individuals involved in the crimes and have managed to trace and reach them.

He also disclosed that head money has been announced for several high-profile terrorists wanted in recent attacks. Zulfiqar Hameed emphasized that multiple breakthroughs have been made in various recent terrorism cases across the province.
