LANDIKOTAL: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held a joint “Amn Car Rally” in here on Sunday.
Around 200 small cars and passenger coaches took part in the “Amn Car Rally” that started from Zintara area in Khyber Agency.The rally ended at Bacha Khan Chowk in Landikotal bazaar after covering about 10 kilometers distance. PPP Khyber Agency chapter president Hazrat Wali Afridi and PTI local leader Abdur Raziq led the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Hazrat Wali and Abdur Raziq asked the Pakistani and Afghan governments to resolve the issues through talks.They said that the recent closure of the Torkham border caused financial loss to both the countries.
Hazrat Wali said it was impossible to completely ban the movement of people via Torkham border. He said that the tribesmen had relations across the border. Supporting the installation of a gate at the Torkham border crossing, Abdur Raziq asked Pakistan to relax rules for those traveling between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He asked the Afghan government to respect Pakistani border and cooperate in maintenance of peace.
