HARIPUR: Two persons, including a local cricketer from Havelian, were killed while another family member seriously injured when a car fell off the Hazara Motorway bridge near Sera-e-Saleh, police and hospital sources said on Sunday.
Police officials claimed that reckless driving caused the fatal accident, leaving two dead. The officials said that Malik Mazhar Hasan, a famous local cricketer from Mohallah Sher Khan in Havelian city, was on the way to Islamabad with his nephew Ahmed Noor and friend Malik Saddam Pervez in a car. When the car reached the Sera-e-Saleh bridge on the Hazara Motorway, the man in the driving seat lost control of the wheels and the vehicle plunged into a several feet deep dried bed of a rainwater course. As a result, all the three persons on board were seriously injured, said a police official.
