Looted money recovered, alleged robber held

CHARSADDA: The City Police on Saturday arrested the main accused involved in robbery of owner of Easypaisa shop and recovered the looted money Rs0.2 million meant for the beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).

Shahab, the owner of an Easypaisa shop, who was on his way to distribute funds to deserving women under the Benazir Income Support Programme, informed the City police that near Qazikhel Bridge, three armed men on a motorcycle robbed him at gunpoint and injured him with the butt of a pistol when he resisted.

The police immediately registered a case and launched an investigation.

Charsadda District Police Officer (DPO) Suleman Zafar also took notice of the incident and ordered the immediate arrest of the culprits and recovery of the stolen funds.

Under the supervision of SP Investigation Sajjad Khan, a team including DSP City Zardad Khan, SHO Behrmand Shah, Additional SHO Sadiq Shah, CIO City Saleem Khan, and other officers carried out the operation and arrested the suspect.

Based on the suspect’s information, the stolen amount of Rs0.2 million, a printer, and the pistol used in the crime were recovered. During the investigation, the victim identified the main suspect as Hamza, a resident of Shehzad Town. Raids are being conducted to arrest the two other suspects.
