SWABI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) Director General Habibullah Arif on Thursday said that a dedicated picnic spot for tourists would soon be developed at Kundal Dam.

Habibullah Arif said that providing high-quality facilities to tourists was one of the top priorities for the authority. “We are working to develop picnic areas at various dams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that tourists can enjoy these scenic locations with comfort and ease,” he added.

Kundal Dam is a recreational and tourist spot located in Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The new picnic spot at Kundal Dam would offer a range of amenities, including walking tracks, washrooms, a tuck shop, rest areas, and designated parking.

The project is being executed under the KPCTA’s development scheme titled “Promotion of tourism through development of recreational areas and tourist facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

The initiative also includes the development of similar facilities at Naryab Dam in Hangu and Chatri Dam in Haripur. The DG was accompanied during the site visit by General Manager Planning and Marketing Muhammad Ayaz, Events Manager Muhammad Ali Syed, Executive Engineer of the C&W Building Division Swabi, and other relevant officials.

He directed the C&W Department to expedite the construction process to ensure timely completion of the project. The project reflects the government’s commitment to making Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a more attractive and accessible destination for domestic and international tourists.
