PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif has criticised the government’s failure to provide meaningful relief to the public despite a consistent drop in global crude oil prices. In a statement, he stated that the recent reduction in fuel prices was negligible and compared it to “a drop in the ocean.”
Barrister Saif said that based on international market trends, petrol prices should have been reduced by at least Rs20 per liter during April alone. He accused the government of depriving the public of relief by suspending fuel price reductions twice in April. According to him, the government only offers relief through advertisements, not through real action.
