PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a meeting with Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) to discuss pressing electricity issues, load management, and recovery of arrears.
The Pesco presented a three-month plan outlining strategies to address challenges in the electricity sector. The meeting also discussed an incentive mechanism for officials linked to the recovery campaign and participation in operations, which the chief secretary approved.
The chief secretary emphasised the importance of prioritising meterisation to streamline distribution and directed Pesco to effectively manage load and minimise line losses, especially with summer approaching.
The Pesco was tasked with facilitating the Peshawar Development Authority in resolving bottlenecks around the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor. The chief secretary also stressed the need to promote the use of cables that reduce the risk of line loss and theft.
